Grove
Beta First MCP for Tax

Your tax practice,
on rails for AI.

Until this week, no MCP server existed for a tax practice. Grove ships the first. The firms moving fastest — the ones already running Claude and Codex against real returns — are wiring it up now. Pull checklists, upload Lacerte backups, cross-reference clients across your book. Build what the rest of the industry hasn't thought to ask for yet.

Shipping now · By invite

The first shelf. Already running at frontier firms.

Each MCP gives your assistant a focused set of tools, scoped to your firm. Start with Checklist — the rest land through the season. Access rolls out firm by firm; the first wave is already in.

What modern firms are running

While the rest of the industry waits, these firms ship.

Until today, every firm waited on their software vendor to ship the next feature. The most ambitious firms stopped waiting — they're composing their own workflows out of MCP tools. The prompts below are running in production right now.

Cross-reference returns

Run questions across your whole client list. No SQL, no exports — just ask in plain English.

"List every client still missing a 1095-A."

Compose existing tools

Stitch checklist + email + calendar in one prompt. The assistant calls each tool, you get the finished artifact.

"Draft 'please send' emails for everyone behind 14 days."

Bulk-import on demand

Drop a Lacerte or Drake backup; returns land in Grove identical to the web uploader. Useful for onboarding new firms.

"Upload last season's backup; tag clients in arrears."

Scriptable from the CLI

Wire up Codex or any MCP-aware tool. Pipe responses through your existing scripts. Cron-able.

$ codex run audit-checklists.md

Firm-scoped by design

Sign in once with your Grove account; the plugin is bound to your firm. There's no way to switch firms or sidestep the scoping.

File uploads use pre-signed URLs bound to your firm's storage. PDFs go machine → Grove direct; never through the chat.

"Upload the Lacerte backup at ~/Downloads/2024-clients.zip and show me what got imported." — running at a 600-return firm this week.
"Pull John Smith's checklist and draft an email asking for the missing W-2s and 1099s." — replacing a 20-minute task with one prompt.
"Across my Q1 returns, list every client still missing a 1095-A." — the kind of question no other tax platform can answer.
